- Abstract
Solar energetic particles represent a radiation hazard to many types of mission. Apart for producing a significant radiation dose in electronics and solar cells, they can interfere in various ways with scientific payloads and represent a significant hazard to manned missions beyond LEO. This contribution will discuss the requirements for their analysis in support of mission design and the efforts underway to improve models, tools, and standards.
