- Abstract
It is natural that fundamental political changes that had place in the early nineties influenced very profoundly national programs of space research and application in the countries concerned. Poland and Ukraine differ very much in the dimension and structure of the space effort in each country but similarly they have to struggle to accommodate to the new situation and challenges. Historical orientation from the Intercosmos Programme should be converted in the more global approach and effective ties with European Space Agency. The definition of the European Space Policy gives new strong impulse. There is a strong desire from both sides to develop close co-operation but economical and political conditions make this co-operation difficult. By process of consultations and joint projects the tissue of collaboration and confidence is build up while financial resources are still far from satisfactory.
