- Abstract
Attitude acquisition or named point-direction recovery is an important issue for lunar satellites and deep-space satellite; For the Earth satellite, the conventional method is based on sun sensor and horizon sensor. The Chang’E-1 UVLS (Ultra-Violet Lunar Sensor) is a static imaging sensor, Throw Lunar image processing it directly exports the pitch angle、roll angle and orbit altitude. So, this novel attitude sensor has much difference with the infrared horizon sensor. This paper developed the attitude acquisition studies based UVLS. Firstly, according to optimization principle of Luna imaging, a new method to determine the most appropriate orbit position for attitude acquisition is researched. Secondly, the attitude acquisition process of lunar satellite is depicted when the satellite is spinning around +X axis. Thirdly, 3-axis attitude determination algorithm is presented based UVLS. Finally, the onboard data of Chang’E-1 satellite shows, when the satellite in the safety mode, attitude determination of UVLS is accurate and the angle’s measure range exceed ±15o. As a result, the Lunar satellite has the ability to realize attitude acquisition based on UVLS, in addition the functions of UVLS is expanded. Key words: Lunar satellite, Ultra-violet Sensor, Attitude acquisition
