Analysis of Mars’ frozen orbit and application in the fomation flying

- Abstract
Frozen orbit is concerned with the orbit design of the resource exploration satellite .The eccentricity and argument of perigee of this type of orbit can be remained constant during a secular period. The environment of the mars is quite the same with the earth, so the method applied for the analysis of the earth’s frozen orbit is suitable to be used for the study of the Mars’ frozen orbit . The GMM-1 up to 50 degrees is utilized for numerical computation, the detailed analysis of the conditions and characters of the frozen orbit for mars are showed in the paper. The results indicate that the frozen orbit of the mars shares the same characteristic with the earth but also has some points unique. Base on all of this analysis, the satellite constellation design of mars composed of the frozen orbit is proposed and proved stability under certain condition.
