    Abstract
IMS-1 is a micro satellite designed and developed with a bus concept to carry payloads of upto30 kg. This first satellite in this series carried two payloads, one being a four band multi-spectral camera with 37m resolution and the other being a sixty-four band hyper-spectral camera with about 505m resolution. These payloads were highly miniaturized payloads in order to be accommodated within the capability of the micro satellite. The current paper describes the miniaturised payloads and the on-orbit performance.
