- Abstract
The program of Chinese Environment and Disaster Monitoring Constellation was ratified in 2003. The constellation consists of two optical satellite(HJ-1A and HJ-1B) and SAR satellite(HJ-1C). The payload for HJ-1A nad HJ-1B included wide swath CCD camera ,hyper-spectrum image and infrared scanner. In 6th, September 2008, the HJ-1A and HJ-1B small satellites were dual-launched successfully. After inserted into the orbit, the users organized on-orbit test and measurement for the satellites to evaluate the payload performance and image qualities. The results showed that the system function and performance meet the system requirement. In this paper, the brief information of the system was introduced. The orbit test procedure was presented. With some typical examples, the application of HJ-1A and HJ-1B data was demonstrated, including its contribution to the Australian bushfire monitoring in this February. The possible scenario for follow-on mission is also discussed.
