- Abstract
This paper intends to give an overview of the activities conducted by CNES and its sub-contractors to operate the Russian Soyouz launcher from the European Space Port in Kourou following the decision by France to open the CSG to Soyouz and the decision by seven European Countries to contribute to the ESA Soyouz at CSG program. After a short description of the progress of the construction of the new Soyouz launch pad is given, the paper provides a description of the adaptations of the Launch Base necessary for Soyouz launches: spacecraft preparation, launcher stages transport, launcher preparation, flight safety and telemetry control. A description of the methodoly used for flight safety activities is also made, with the indication for the solutions and the development progress status.
