    Abstract
The global effort to pull together diverse activities required to focus on space elevator development processes seems daunting. The first step was successfully achieved in Feb 09 with the establishment of an International Space Elevator Consortium (ISEC www.isec.info). This paper will describe the structure of the new organization, its objectives and goals, the major players in the organization, and near term objectives for the main activities. The ISEC primary task is to ensure globally diverse activities recognize the phenomenal potential and coordinate efforts towards a 2030 goal of operations. The Mission statement is:
"... ISEC promotes the development, construction and operation of a space elevator as a revolutionary and efficient way to space for all humanity ..."
