    Abstract
There is no governmental space program in Kuwait. However, due to the country's dependency on oil production, remote sensing applications are to date the only utilization of space technology by necessity.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the current state of Kuwait's space science and industry sector, and to examine the options for Kuwait to expand more into the space field. This paper will focus on the potential benefits that Kuwait may receive from further developments in the space field and provides a risk assessment to the economy and society by not doing so and continuing to be dependent on foreign space service providers instead.
