- Abstract
Many founders of space-rocket systems of the USSR have been connected closely with Ukraine - or they were born and studied in Ukraine, or they have arrived and worked in Ukraine in the space-rocket industry. Among this constellation of names (Kondratyuk, Korolev, Gloushko, Yangel, Tchelomey, Utkin, Rechetnev, Boudnik, Kovtounenko, Kisounjko, Dogoujiev, Makarov, Voznyuk and oth) Gleb Evgenjevich Lozino-Lozinsky a worthy place occupies who was born hundred years ago in Kiev , who studied, worked and has received experience of designing gas-turbine engines, the piston engines and combined aviation engines in Kharkov aviation institute. He has lived a long life, was by witness of the October revolution, of the civil war in Ukraine, he has gone through a cholera, famine of 1933, the second world war, disintegration of the USSR, but only with the beginning of perestroyka he has had an opportunity to go abroad. Details of his life were confidential long time. Therefore the world space-rocket public knew rather about his superprogressive systems and designs, than about his life and creativity more. The report fills this blank in a history of world space technology. It tells about his way both during a life in Ukraine, and during his work in Mikoyan's DB - since the chief of a brigade participating in designing of engines of high-speed fighters MiG-13, MiG-17 and finishing by the main designer of MIG-21, MiG- 25 (MiG-31), of the aerospace system " Spiral " in the beginning , and then of the projects of the future - "Molniya- 1", "Molniya- 400", "Molniya- 1000", of МАКС - reusable aerospace system. The report is giving the special attention to G.Lozino-Lozinskiy's 25-years activity as the General designer of NPO "Molniya" on development of orbital ship "Buran". Not without reason G. Lozino-Lozinskiy have named by "father" of "Buran". The domestic press was written about G. Lozino-Lozinsky very much. In the scientific foreign literature his creative multilateral longevity is reflected much less. Authors acquaint with little-known materials in the West about a life and activity of the oustanding designer which was meeting with one of authors personally. The purpose f the report is to inform world community the information on unique person G. Lozino-Lozinsky, to analyse his achievements from the scientific and technical point of view which have not lost the urgency now and they can help many scientists and designers with designing orbital and aerospace systems.
