    Abstract
Portugal is a recent player in European space activity. It joined ESA in 2000 which as a result opened a plethora of opportunities for the Portuguese people. The ESA partnership allowed Portuguese companies to participate in ITT (invitations to tender) and students were able to apply to ESA educational programs.
One of the key problems today however is the fact that there is no centre of gravity medium that combines all the information on Portuguese space activities and keeps it available for public in a easily accessible and comprehensive way.
In this paper, the current status of Portuguese space activities are described, highlighting actual issues and suggesting solutions to try and unify the space sector in Portugal. This comprehensive report provides a timeline flow of space activities in Portugal from it origins to until present day.
