    Abstract
The use of GPS for geocatching in Guatemala can be an educational experience for schools and universities. There are universities such as the Unversity Rafael Landivar and the Unversity Mariano Galvez have the equipment to demonstrate how the GPS works in a geocatching teaching class. The objective of this teaching lesson is to show students how the GPS works in a fun activity. This activity can be beneficial for students who want to work with GPS in the future in there jobs. This paper will show the steps that can be used for this activity in Guatemala as well as the classes given to show the procedure for various schools. The paper will present the results of these activities to the guatemalean public as well as the IAC congress in Prague in 2010. For Guatemala, there are few or no activities that involve GPS that is why this paper is original.
