- Abstract
The latest results on short-term forecasts of earthquakes in different regions are presented based on a new concept of seismo-tecto-genesis. The model approaches to theoretical explanations are discussed. The main attention is paid to a series of earthquakes 03.08.09 in the bay of California, which was triggered by a severe geomagnetic storm; Kamchatka earthquake having reactivated four volcanoes; Haiti 12.01.10. The results of joint Russian-Taiwanese seismic activity forecast experiment will be discussed, which resulted in three forecasted earthquakes 03.10.09, 05.11.09 and 08.02.10 in the predicted zone and of predicted magnitude. Analysis of lithosphere response on Korean nuclear explosion 25.05.09, and huge peaceful explosion in Kirgizstan 22.12.09 made it possible suggesting new method of determining explosion energy based on cloud structures induced by seismic activities and radon/hydrogen eruptions.
