- Abstract
As composites have developed and matured, the nondestructive testing/evaluation (NDT/NDE) methods needed to characterize and maintain them have also developed and matured. This paper listed a variety of NDT/NDE techniques and gave an overall comment on them, introduced the application status of NDT/NDE in polymer based, metal based and ceramic based composite materials, as well as the limitations of them. The future development needs and the trends of NDT/NDE techniques were also discussed at the end.
