- Abstract
Attracting students to the space field is one of the main challenges today for the aerospace sector. Likewise, stimulating students’ potential is a key element to obtain a more skilled and competitive workforce. LEEM, ‘Laboratory for Space and Microgravity Research’ was created in 2006 with the aim of facilitating a platform to develop and support space related projects for students. Four years later, students from different countries and backgrounds have participated in projects such as CanSat, CubeSat, Rockets or UAVs, developing their competences and bringing them closer to the professional field. On the other hand, LEEM has become a real network among students, young professionals and experts, establishing initiatives as the S3, ‘Spanish Space Students’ congress, which gathers annually students within the aerospace community in Spain. This paper summarizes the activities carried out during the last year as well as its contribution to the students’ development.
