Abstract

Utilization of space based resources, like access to the international space station and use of the multiuser facilities of the international partners (NASA, ESA, JAXA a.o.)depends on the development and production of dedicated experiment hardware followed by operations involving control and support centers mainly in the US and Europe.

A new product based concept shall minimize the related efforts, making maximum use of already developed experiments and simplified standard operations.

The use of standard equipment reduces not only cost but also schedules and increases reliability and comparability. Early availability of test units also improves the prepartion phase for the scientific user.
