- Abstract
They say,” It is the history that decides the future of the man” and it comes to be very appropriate in terms of human exploration. The paper is a review of satellites, rockets and robotic space mission strategies, breakthroughs and status of such missions. The review begins with the 1957 launch of sputnik by USSR and then ends with the satellites in 2011. The paper compiles all the mission strategies of the missions, it has sections dedicated to various and unwavering aspects of the space exploration programs. There is a section of the world famous space programs competition between USA and USSR and it reminds of the continuous simultaneous space missions from 1957-1981 and their specifications modifications and purposes. One section is devoted to the continuous failures and successes of the Pioneer, Voyager, Luna and Venera space missions which shed a great deal of light on human motivation and triumph of the spirit. There is one more section of contributions from other powerful nations like Germany, Japan in the ongoing space battle. The fourth and final section discusses the space exploration prospects of developing countries and a major discussion on Indian and African space programs. The other half of paper is dedicated to the exploration of rocketry. Starting off with 14th century Chinese inventions of rockets and then moving on to medieval rocket warfare. It is dedicated study till the 21st century evolution. This half of the paper has divisions on the basis of time periods such as Initial, middle and Modern era. The early era compiles of the invention era to medieval warfare and the Indian rocket warfare of the 1700’s. The middle era compiles up to the pre-World War II era and depicts the advent of metal rocketry. The modern era starts post World War II and is still running. This division details and compares the modern technology and designs.
