Abstract: Over the last three decades, Chinese economy has made eye-catching achievements. Coincidentally, Chinese space industries have scored outstanding achievements in the past five decades, greatly promoted the development of social progress, and produced profound and far-reaching effects. Space technology has turned out to be one of the most important strategic fields of high technology in China. What exactly is the key point? The common key point between the two achievements is not that the success was copied from any other countries or systems, it is based on innovations, China has closely combined the rules of economy or space technology with its own national situations, continuously self-adjusting to adapt to changing conditions, thus figuring out a unique way of development around the world. The rules of space technology are universal, but space activities and their development surely take on varied characteristics in different nations. Chinese government and space technicians have explored a unique and successful development road for Chinese space programs after overcoming various difficulties with great wisdom and remarkable courage, made a due contribution to the space exploration of human being and peaceful use of outer space. The paper analyses and introduces the history and methodology of the development of Chinese space programs, discusses the roles and status of system engineering theory and methodology, independent and innovative culture and Chinese traditional culture, also presents the author’s views and conclusions.
