    Abstract
SETI efforts has been unsuccessful until today but many different programs and new ideas are being promoted in regard of the search for extraterrestrial intelligence presence like the active strategy. Unfortunately not much research has been done on the psychosocial impact and consequences of this contact event and even less on the neuroscience role on the topic. Human psychology and neuroscience may play a key role in this topic and may influence both, the search and the results of the event. The role of consciousness in neuropsychosocial aspects of human behavior and cognition and its potential relationship with the contact event are discussed in this work. A model is proposed to explain the role of these factors. The possible scenarios after contact occurs and the consequences are discussed under a psychological perspective. Finally a roadmap for contact with several strategies for the possible different types of scenarios are provided.
