Chinese DFH-4 Platform Product Line Improvement

- Abstract
Since the first DFH-4 platform satellite SINOSAT-2 was launched in 2006, there are 8 satellites based on DFH-4 launched. The last 6 satellites worked very well. After that a series improvement and enhancement were performed. DFH-4S bus (DFH-4 Small and Smart Bus) and DFH-4E bus (DFH-4 Enhanced Bus) were developed to supply the DFH-4 platform product line. These improvement based on new technology can provide flexible application, more reliable performance, and more large capability. DFH-4S bus can be used on medium capacity GEO satellite which used Li-ion batteries, avionics, and electrical propulsion system. Plus DFH-4S, more large structure and heavier launch mass were used on DFH-4E bus. DFH-4E bus can accommodate about 70 high power transponders and provide high heat dissipation areas. DFH-4S, DFH-4 and DFH-4E bus constituted a complete platform product line, comply with more comprehensive application. The presentation introduces the improvement of DFH-4, the development plan and status of DFH-4S and DFH-4E bus.
