- Abstract
The One Way Ticket project is a conceptual proposition to send one person on a voyage into deep space from where they will not return. It is a body of artwork that is informed and inspired by research into the exceptional nature of the scenario and the various implications that entail – in physiological, psychological and philosophical terms. The project exists as a multi-media installation for exhibition. It comprises a selection of images, films, and objects that illustrate and simulate the specific phenomena to be encountered aboard the spacecraft. The exhibited outcome engages the public’s imagination with a particular form of deep space exploration and generates a sense of empathy for an extraordinary human experience.
