    Abstract
The Space Kreanovation Park (SKP) is a brainchild project of the current management of the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA). GISTDA’s current strategy is two pronged, to initiate value creation and bring about social benefits. GISTDA is undertaking the task of setting up the Space Kreanovation Park (SKP) in order to bring together creativity and innovation. The SKP will be set up at the current THEOS ground station in Sriracha by expanding THEOS Ground Control Station. Its location - close to the industrial area on the eastern seaboard of Thailand as well as universities in eastern Thailand – makes ease of access one of its most important assets. The SKP will provide several services to accelerate economic and knowledge growth in Thailand which will in turn ensure sustainable development in Thailand’s space industry and establish SKP as an important business center when free trade opens up in the ASEAN region in 2015. The government of Thailand through the Board of Investment of Thailand (BOI) is also providing momentum to this project by providing financial incentives to companies to set up in the SKP. More than just being a Business incubator, GISTDA is leveraging the SKP site as a space lab and R&D center for all ASEAN space activities as well as a provider of infotainment in the space field to the general public. Further more, a Space Knowledge Center shall also be open, to provide knowledge and infotainment, to the general public. The Space Knowledge Center shall be a pillar of knowledge for Thai youth and adults alike.
This paper shall assess the needs of professionals and students in the Space and GIS field using surveys and questionnaire and then in-depth analysis shall also be perform. The result of the survey shall play an important part in the development of the framework and planning of the SKP in order to develop it in the accordance of the needs of the Thai people. The paper shall also discuss what and how the SKP will be beneficial to the Thai industrial and education sector and its impacts to other sectors. With the four pillars of the SKP combined – the Earth Observation Satellite Ground Station, the Business Incubation Center, the Space Lab and the Space Knowledge Center – the SKP shall form the core support for Thailand and ASEAN in the space age.
