    Abstract
The main objective of the Space protocol to the Cape Town Convention is the efficient financing of space assets, as defined in the Protocol itself.
Even if initially supported by the whole industry, who needed a sound , internationally adopted legal regimen in order to encourage the provision of financing and the decrease of the costs, the Protocl has been the subject of severe criticism by part of industry. The paper will address said concerns in order to demonstrate that the Space Protocol will produce positive implications in the commercial sector by facilitating the acuisition of finance by giving creditiors greater confidence in the decision to grant credit.
