Abstract

The activity purpose is to show the necessity and to prove the efficiency of the application of the special vocabulary of terms, which were established in international aerospace standards, for the contract terms and project documentation development.
The vocabulary development is the result of practical application of the terminological monitoring procedure, which is made by authors as experts in the international technical committee of standardization ISO/TC 20 “Aircraft and Space Vehicles”. The terminological monitoring procedure is performed for the drafts of standards, which were developed by ISO/TC 20, and also for standards during systematic review for the terminology improvement.
The authors included the full list of aerospace terms from ISO/TC 20 standards in the special vocabulary of standard aerospace terms. There are more than 5000 terms. The electronic version of this vocabulary is easily updated and added in automatic mode by the instrumentality of the created programme software. It is very important for the new standards developing. The special vocabulary of standard aerospace terms is considered by the authors, as the part of the aerospace Vocabulary, which is created at the initiative of IAC. In addition, the vocabulary – the list of the equivalent terms with translation of terms on the official languages of the countries – the space activity participants, can be created on the base of the terms from ISO/TC 20 standards. This activity can be done in frames both ISO/TC 20 and the IAC section Е8.
Now the mechanism, with the help of which the authors make the management of the terminology during development of ISO/TC 20 standards, was approved by ISO/TC 20 resolutions with the authority of ISO/TC 20 representation in ISO/TC 37 “Terminology and other language and content resources” and is also supported by ISO/TC 37.
Given activity practical results allow to speak that the application of the special vocabulary of standard aerospace terms for the contract terms and space project documentation development is necessary. The using of the single terminological base is the guarantee of the alike understanding of contract requirements by all project participants, and therefore it is one of the mechanisms for the quality assurance of space projects and space missions. 
Thus, the terminology management will be the element of the project management system in the aerospace sphere.
