    Abstract
The Google Lunar X PRIZE is an incentive based prize for commercial robotic exploration of the lunar surface. Launched in September 2007, the Google Lunar X PRIZE offers a total of \$30 Million US Dollars for completing objectives on the lunar surface, including the \$20 Million US Dollar Grand Prize for being the first privately funded team to land on the Moon, move 500 meters and broadcast back live video.
Teams competing in the Google Lunar X PRIZE come from all around the globe with varied designs and mission architectures to compete for the prize. In addition to the \$20 Million US Dollar Grand Prize, teams are actively pursuing additional sources of revenue that will allow them to be sustainable after the completion of the Google Lunar X PRIZE to continue with further exploration of the lunar environment. This paper and accompanying presentation will show the latest status of the prize and the competing teams competing.
