    Abstract
Since 1966, there have been more than 20 missions for tether technology study and several important technological lessons are obtained. Space tether technology is expected to save many important hazards including space debris mitigation and to reach space elevator concept with length 1,000,000km. This paper is to study the problems and solution of space tether technology based on our historical lessons learned for these 50 years.
