- Abstract
In order to further improve the existing space transportation system to adapt a variety of track tasks, upper stage is used or developed, the upper stage is one or more stages relatively independent of basal stage rocket or reuse vehicle, working segments usually has entered Earth orbit, able to complete the track taxiing, orbital maneuvering and payload separation and deployment tasks. Upper stage characterized by multiple starting, the short-term in-orbit, autonomous flight, multitasking adaptability. It can improves rocket performance. Upper stage launches multi-satellite can reduce cost, improve adaptability and competitiveness of rocket, meet user's needs. This article gives the summary of upper stage's development.
