Some manned lunar missions and the launching mode are introduced. Combined the manned lunar development trend and China's actual situation, the purpose and significance of China's manned lunar program is analyzed. Some preliminary different tasks mode for China's manned lunar program and the requirements of launch vehicle system are affirmed. The results indicate that two strategy, Earth Orbit Rendezvous+Lunar Orbit Rendezvous and Low Earth Orbit Rendezvous are feasible, and heavy launch vehicle is of great significance to support these activities. Based on this, it is proposed to accelerate the development of the heavy launch vehicle.
