- Abstract
Nepalese society highly believes in Astrology but lacks the formal education of Science and astronomy. From the establishment of first formal school in 1854 A.D. till dated, there have been huge reforms in education and its application sectors. This paper will highlight on the numbers of outreach activities by Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST, 1982 AD), Observatory BP Koirala Memorial Planetarium (1992 AD) and Observatory at Balmiki Campus along with National /International organizations like Nepal Astronomical Society (NASO), Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC), Global Hands on Universe, Astronomers without Borders and various school clubs in Astronomy. The paper aims to highlight on education in Nepal for last 47 years more valuably in the field of astronomy; which has been increasingly popular in the country. The research work of Research Group of Astrophysics and Cosmology Nepal will be in focus along with the Astronomy programs by different Universities in Nepal with the inclusion of Astronomy education in the syllabus at different education level. The various procedure, technique and ideas used in providing the space education through various activities and program to students at different levels, school teachers and to the general public shall be the major focus of the paper. These practices can be inspirational to other developing countries. The paper will vigorously deal with the need of space technology like remote sensing technique, precise weather forecast, telemedicine and much more for the country like Nepal its dynamic development. Beside it will also emphasize the possibility of development of various observatories in Nepal because of its tremendous but varying topography, increasing the Astro tourism in Nepal. In brief, the paper would focus on the development of Space Science and Astronomy education to its implementation along with its outreach to Nepalese society.
