    Abstract
Colonel Ilan Ramon of the Israel Air Force was the nation first astronaut. Launched on board space shuttle Columbia on mission STS-107, Ramon was perished with his colleagues on February 1st 2003.

To honor Ramon, and as a toll for bringing space down to earth, the Fisher Institute for Air and Space Strategic Studies, together with the Ramon family and the Israeli space agency, formed an international space congress, held annually since 2006.

Partners to the Conference are the Ramon family, The Fisher Institute for Air & Space Strategic Studies, and the Israel Space Agency, affiliated to the Ministry of Science & Technology. Participating at the Conference are the President of the State of Israel, international Heads of Space Agencies; senior Israel’s Government official; heads of all related space industries, domestic and international; senior scientists; the diplomatic corps, and many others. Nasa is a partner, with annual participation of astronauts and scientists, as well as the Nasa administrator. Other partners are the Smithsonian Institute National Air and Space Museum, and the leading aerospace industries from Israel. The International Astronautical Federation is a close partner, and on January 2013, its former president, Professor Feuerbacher, took active part in the conference as the chair of the science symposium.

The Conference’s Sessions address various matters such as Space Security, International Space Cooperation, Space Exploration, Space and Science, Space Policy, Space Technology and Industry, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Non-Traditional Space Application and Space education.

During the years the conference became the largest of its kind in Israel, and was chosen to be the place in which the official space agreements of the Israeli space agency are signed.

The conference is open to the public, with special programs for youth, such as guided tours at the international space exhibition, meetings with astronauts and scientists, and outreach program in which prominent participants are traveling through the country on the week of the conference to bring space to everyone.
