    Abstract
    Today, space and space technology play an important role in people's lives and improvement of their living conditions. One of the important issues about space is creation of space culture in society. Hence, the social awareness of space and its applications is very important in everyday life. Iranian community has had much progress in recent years in fields such as developing and launching space rockets , satellites and space biological capsules. Furthermore, amateur astronomy has had a remarkable growth in Iran in recent decades and many young people have been fascinated by this issue and many active astronomy groups have been formed in Iran. Population of amateur astronomical society is young and dynamic and it can play an important role in promoting space culture in society. In this paper, we attempt to describe astronomical group activities briefly in promoting space culture in society.
