- Abstract
Space education is the need and necessity of every country to apply modern science and technology.Advancement in space technology has presented the modern world with many opportunities for extraction and analysis of required information from various fields. Exploring space is the main interest of school children here in nepal. searching for suitable world to prevent human species from extinction, searching the universe to unravel the existence the extraterrestrial creatures, asteroids mining and in understanding the threats to our existence are only through the development of space science and technology. These things can only be achieved from the awareness of schools children. But the keen interest in the development of space science are increasing. Pokhara Astronomical Society (PAS) a sister organization of NASO is carrying out various projects on its own and in collaboration with national and international organizations like NASO, Department of physics Prithvi Narayan campus pokhara, central Department of physics Tribhuvan University, Nepal academy of science and technology,Astronomy without boarders and Global hands on universe to disseminate space science and astronomy for the school children in nepal. PAS has contributed in making plans and policies for implementing the activities of space education amongst school children,teachers and public in the form of workshops, water rocket competition, seminars and outreaching events. Experiences, insights and innovations to children, used to promote space education will be discussed which is believed to play vital role in promoting space science education.
