    Abstract
The Global warming will affect both the Arctic and Antarctic, but the call for the Arctic will be the stronger with the expected access to new resources, shorter navigation sea-routes, new fisheries zones…
For these remote, vast, harsh and North Areas, satellites technologies will have obvious assets to support the development of the human activities.
The objective of the presentation will be to identify geo-information, communication, and navigation related services needed for the North development, to assess the advantages of the Services approach compared to the infrastructure one, and to review how existing services on other (than frozen) areas can be adapted in an efficient way to take advantage of the already existing systems.
