    Abstract
Radio astronomers are currently exploiting a wide range of new technologies that are in the process of transforming the field. These new technologies are largely driven by commercial interests, especially those associated with the ICT industry. As a result, a new generation of radio telescope facilities are emerging, and the community is currently engaged towards realising the first radio astronomy mega-facility, the Square Kilometre Array (SKA). SETI stands to benefit from all of these advances, including the recent emergence of Big Data challenges, and the associated growth in Data Analytics. We will discuss these developments in the context of recent SETI observations
