- Abstract
Malaysia’s involvement in space industry is part of broader efforts to attain the Vision 2020 objective of turning Malaysia into a developed country. Malaysia will have the ability to harness the space sector for the economic development and well-being of the people. Satellite development program is actually supporting government initiative in the Economy Transformation Programme (ETP) and the 10th Malaysia Plan structure (10th MP). In shaping the Malaysia space sector, Space Policy is an important point of reference in carved the niche area in our own ways. This is directive catalyst to the local space industry in term of upstream and downstream sectors. Malaysia is currently engaging the EO Satellite Program as a primary involvement to the space industry. The RazakSAT-2 satellite program is a vital development program by pursuing strategic technology for push forward the national economy growth, human capital and capacity building, strategic acquisitions and the impact on the socio-political as well as security and sovereignty. The program have been scrutinize by having its own improvement set up in order to ensure the all aspects are equally taken care. By having these, Malaysia will growth more mature and gain more knowledge and experiences in space technology sector.
