- Abstract
In January 2014 Planet Labs launched it’s first fleet of satellites -- Flock 1. With 28 satellites, Flock 1 is the largest constellation of Earth imaging satellites ever. This represents one potential commercial and humanitarian use of small satellites. In this paper we present the design, production manufacturing, and the early on-orbit results, including the commissioning and operations process, and some early imagery.
