    Abstract
    Proba-V is a Belgian-ESA small satellite designed as a successor for the Spot-4/5 Vegetation instrument.  With a 2-daily coverage in the latitude range +/-35° and a daily coverage for the rest of the globe (+75° to -56°),  the Proba-V mission offers products in 4 spectral bands (Blue, Red, NIR and SWIR) with a spatial resolution up to 100m.
    The satellite was launched by the Vega rocket from Kourou, French-Guyana on May 7th, 2013. After six months of commissioning, the mission was formally transferred to operations beginning of December 2013. The Proba-V User Segment, developed and operated by VITO, ensures the data processing, archiving, product distribution and in-flight calibration for the mission. 
    In this presentation we will give a short overview of the relevance, history and future of Spaceborn Vegetation Instruments. Almost one year after the start of operations, we will elaborate on the in-flight results and the lessons learnt from the operational day-to-day activities. We will discuss the geometric and radiometric accuracy and stability of the products and give an overview of the feedback from our customers. Finally we’ll share our vision on what could be the future for Spaceborn Vegetation Instruments.
