- Abstract
The National University San Antonio Abad of Cusco (UNSAAC) has decided to venture into development of projects related to aerospace technology. This is a significant step for developing different skills in the students and professionals of Cusco, and also for looking to impact in the entire country Peru, in recent years, has been showing significant progress in the aerospace technology, the proof is the different nano-satellite development by different institutions such as the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru with PUCP-Sat, Alas Peruanas University with UAP-Sat and the National University of Engineering with Chaski I. The UNSAAC not want to be left behind, and that is why, through two projects approved last December 2013, the university aims to keep the route with the above institutions. One project is titled "Design and Construction of a Nano-Satellite Containing a Media Resolution Camera for Optical Study of Cloud Coverage the Cusco Region" whose main objective is to put into orbit a nano-satellite built by peruvian professionals and students, the nano-satellite will carry-on an optical camera as payload to take satellite images, which aims to make a study of cloud cover over the region of Cusco. The other project is titled "Study of the Thermosphere: Acquisition and Data Analysis of Satellite Missions (QB50 Project)" whose primary purpose is to receive, analyze and study the information provided by the QB50 mission, atmospheric effects in the thermosphere, electro equatorial jet and solar activity by implementing the appropriate infrastructure These projects will have a duration between 2 and 3 years and are being developed by professors and students of UNSAAC, by the Centre for Research in Rural Telecommunications - CEDITER, and with the advice of the company SPECTRUM ARC GmbH.
