- Abstract
This paper describes about our new approach to promote the utilization of JAXA's academic information such as journal articles, theses, dissertations, departmental bulletin papers, and research papers using Linked Open Data (LOD). LOD is a method of publishing structured data and one of the best practice for exposing, sharing, and connecting pieces of data, information, and knowledge on the Semantic Web using URIs and RDF. Our new approach involves the following three processes: First, to search external LOD such as DBpedia that can create an additional valuable information by combining them with JAXA's academic information. Second, to publish the LOD of JAXA's academic information to the public. Third, to develop a system to enable the public to effectively obtain valuable data, information, and knowledge by combining the the external LOD found in the first process with JAXA's academic information published in the second process of this new approach.
