    Abstract
Dramatic growth in commercial space programs and the expanding interest in those projects have led to the development of an undergraduate degree in commercial space operations in anticipation of the industry’s needs. The new Bachelor of Science degree in Commercial Space Operations began in the fall semester of 2013 at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Focus of the non-engineering technical program is centered on the operations aspects of the budding commercial space industry. Course curriculum and program objectives of the first-of-its-kind commercial space degree are outlined in the paper, along with the participation of the space industry and related space agencies in structuring the degree. The importance of the rapid evolution of regulation, licensing, and policy related to commercial space are also reviewed.
