    Abstract
    Are you often about to fall asleep during conferences? Do you want a forum where you can exchange crazy ideas, test innovative concepts, have fun and talk about Space?

    SpaceUp Bremen (http://www.spaceup-bremen.org/) will allow 80 participants living in the Bremen area to participate in the city's first space unconference on the 11th and 12th of April 2014. It will be held at the DLR Institute of Space Systems, and will be free of charge for all participants. It is designed as a space unconference for people who are passionate about humanity's future in space and those who want to play a part in it. It will be the second of its kind in Germany and hopes to bring space enthusiasts together in an informal environment to brainstorm on the future of space and to discuss their role in it.
    The event will offer:
    \begin{itemize}\item Inspiring talks from experienced professionals \end{itemize}
    \begin{itemize}\item Two days to talk with fellow minded participants about the future of space \end{itemize}
    \begin{itemize}\item A warmup to the festivities of Yuri's night (http://www.yurisnight-bremen.de/) \end{itemize}

    The paper presents why events such as SpaceUp are arising in the space community and how it was relevant to organise this in Bremen, given the large scale of it's local space community. The format and goals will be introduced, in addition to the innovative measures taken to create an optimal environment for idea generation. The results of the event will then be discussed, along with lessons learned for future similar events.
