- Abstract
METI stands for Message to Extraterrestrial Intelligence. The idea of sending message to other worlds is older than SETI but the first real attempt was after the first SETI experiment. This talk will trace the ideas of several people, from the Greeks to Nicola Tesla and passing by Gauss, to try to contact beings from outer space. We will conclude with the first real attempt to do so.
