    Abstract
The author's LINGUA COSMICA LOGICA, usually referred to as LINCOS, has been designed as a vehicle for formulating (large-size) messages meant for use in interstellar communication with Extra Terrestrial Intelligent species. In the present paper we discuss how LINCOS can be used for characterising in a linguistic sense the concept of robots, more in particular human-like robots called hubots. The description is applicable in the field of SETI. In case the search for a sign of life from ETI yields a supposedly interstellar message, presumably formulated by an Extra-terrestrial Intelligent Society, one can use the charterisation in order to decide whether the message was de facto conceived by an extra-terrestrial (or possibly terrestrial) robot or hubot.
