    Abstract
There is need to update and critically monitor the hydology of the Niger-Delta basin to understand the coastal zones and inland waterways. An overview of the possible monitoring, utilization, distribution and consumption of water resources by Nigersat-X is presented. Integrating known water management models to monitor single points in water ways and coastal regions will also be highlighted. NigeriaSat-X Satellite is part of the Disaster Monitoring Constellation, the first Earth observation constellation of low cost small satellites providing daily images for applications including water resource and global disaster monitoring. NigeriaSat-X was used as a Training Model spacecraft for the team of Nigerian engineers who where part of the SSTL’s training and development programme. NigeriaSat-X was commissioned in orbit by Nigerian engineers after the launch phase.
