- Abstract
ABSTRACT The goal of this work is to present the management system of suppliers (MSS), introducing QRL (quality readiness level) to be used during a development project in low volume industry regarding the part numbers of suppliers to the project. Automotive high volume industry uses the PPAP (production part approval process) to follow the supplier, this process is mature but has some elements that are not applicable to low volume industry. It is also considered that not all suppliers and part numbers are having the same quality and maturity, therefore a prioritization system has to be adopted, treating different part numbers with different requirements and elements to be delivered during the project phases. This prioritization can be established if one considers the NTCP-F - novelty, technology, complexity, pace, fabrication/manufacturing. To standardize the prioritization, the part number and supplier is submitted to an assessment, the QRL (quality readiness level) is determined and this leads to a set of elements to be delivered during the project development. Keywords: systems engineering, quality control, suppliers.
