    Abstract
One of the main goals of the State is to guaranty the security and welfare of its citizens. In order to accomplish this, some parameters need to be addressed. The UN has agreed in the accomplishment of the new Sustainable Development Goals to guarantee basic needs for population. In to this end, governments need to seek all possible tools to address this mandate. The Mexican Space Agency has as its main mandate the use of space technologies for the benefit of Mexican citizens.
A concrete action item in the Mexican Space Programme is to address its efforts in sustainable development using EO. This effort is linked to the UN SDG 13 Climate Action. Nevertheless, this effort can’t be done alone but in cooperation with space agencies.
This paper will discuss how international cooperation can be a tool to address a UN SDG through the use of space technologies.
