- Abstract
The protected area APRM Peninsula de Zapata is a very large and difficult to access area; with very high biodi-versity values and almost unique characteristics that distinguish it from other wet-les country. At work the meth-odological procedure shown to determine the temperature of the earth your-surface from thermal bands ob-tained by TIRS of Landsat sensors, for that first were converted to values of spectral radiance values ND con-tained in the pixels and then a brightness temperature in Kelvin (k) for using of the supplied thermal constant in the metadata file USGS from the application of the correction in the land surface emissivity using for this por-tion of the vegetation. Also the preliminaries results of its practical application are shown in the APRM Peninsu-la de Zapata.
