- Abstract
A joint British-Kazakh KazSTSAT mission to be launched next year will introduce a wide range of new technologies including the 100 kg class SSTL-X50 platform itself as well as a number of technology demonstration equipment developed by Ghalam from Kazakhstan. KazSTSAT will also be the first spacecraft to demonstrate the beyond diffraction limit imaging in orbit. Almost everything about this mission is experimental: from a completely new platform architecture and most of the modules designed and built from scratch to a dynamic organizational structure of the team as well as approaches tried and applied. The paper will focus on the current progress of the project, openly discussing the unique technical and management lessons learned including the evolution of some of the key technical solutions.
