- Abstract
Pokhara Astronomical Society (PAS) has been helping to bring the world of Astronomy and Space Science to interested Nepalese society since 2012. PAS is also contributing in making plans, policies and implementing them for productive outcomes. PAS is carrying out various projects on its own and in collaboration with national and international organizations including Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST), Astronomers without Boarder (AWB), Global Hands on Universe (GHoU) and Astrophysics and Cosmology Research Group (ACRG) to disseminate its ideas and techniques to increase scientific literacy and research oriented programs. It has been organizing workshops, talks, water rocket competition, star parties and most importantly Night Sky Observation through Telescopes. We use Stellarium Sky Simulation through projector to discuss about the real activities going on in our beautiful Sky and live observation through Telescope. Although we see the Moon, Jupiter and other celestial objects in pictures and television, watching these objects with the aid of telescope and Stellarium play very crucial and inspiring role to students and public. This paper discusses about the space education activities and awareness program with the techniques of using Stellarium and Telescope and its impacts on the school students and public in Nepal.
