- Abstract
SpaceIL sees its educational mission in using the challenge of reaching the Moon to inspire the next generation of teenagers in Israel to think differently about Science; Engineering; Technology and Math, and to believe it is possible to pursue their own dreams and aspirations through science and technology. Through a combination of face-to-face and online activities, developing and using innovative content, providing new accessible role models, and collaborating with partners, SpaceIL aspires to develop a collaborative community around the spacecraft, in order to influence the public discourse, inspire teenagers to choose STEM subjects, and connect people to science as a national asset. During the year 2015 our efforts were focussed on the following directions: • Establishing an infrastructure for all educational activities: • Development of educational materials for formal and informal contexts • Examining options for online activities that will reach maximum of our target audience within the limitations of our human and financial resources • Preserving and expanding a community of volunteers • Collaborations with organizations that have similar goals in strategic partnerships • Spreading the story through exposure activities
